# What is PaperStrategy

A token whose trading funds a staked PAPER position. The yield buys the token back and burns it.

PaperStrategy (PSTR) is a token on HyperEVM, traded against HYPE on HyperSwap. It is built on top of Papertrade.

* Every buy and sell of PSTR pays a 10% tax.
* The tax funds a treasury, which deposits USDC into Papertrade accounts.
* Those accounts acquire PAPER, Papertrade's fee-claim token, and stake all of it.
* Staked PAPER earns USDC. That yield buys PSTR back on the market and burns it.

The more PSTR trades, the more PAPER the treasury holds. The more PAPER it holds, the more PSTR gets burned.

**Status: pre-launch.** The contracts are tested and were rehearsed end to end on HyperEVM mainnet with test tokens. Addresses will be published on [Contracts and addresses](/transparency/contracts.md) at launch. Any token using this name before then is not PaperStrategy. Last updated: 6 October 2026.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.paperstrategy.xyz/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
