# Buy and sell PSTR

How to trade PSTR

## What you need

* A wallet on HyperEVM (MetaMask, Rabby or any injected wallet). Use an ordinary wallet: multisigs and smart-contract wallets are taxed when they receive or send PSTR.
* HYPE for the purchase and for gas.

## 1. Use the trade panel

{% hint style="success" %}
**Trade from the panel on paperstrategy.xyz.** It is built for this token: it shows what you will really receive after tax, the tax of the moment during the fair launch tax window, the price impact and the minimum you accept. The slippage is already set. Your wallet sends the swap straight to the HyperSwap router; nothing sits in between.
{% endhint %}

Connect your wallet, type an amount, check the amount you receive, confirm in the wallet. Selling works the same way from the Sell tab.

During the launch window, when the tax is above 10%, it is the only interface that computes the trade correctly.

## 2. If you use HyperSwap directly

HyperSwap's interface does not know about the tax. Two things to expect, once the launch window is over:

|                           | Buy                    | Sell                   |
| ------------------------- | ---------------------- | ---------------------- |
| Slippage tolerance to set | 12%                    | 13%                    |
| What you receive | about 90% of the quote | about 90% of the quote |

Below those settings the transaction fails. Sells need a point more because the contract converts the tax it holds just before your sale, which moves the price a little.

## Buying then selling

Costs about 19% in tax (10% each way), before pool fees and price movement. PSTR is not built for round trips.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.paperstrategy.xyz/getting-started/trade.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
